The company was founded and is operated by a family, with both husband and wife Ph.D.s in chemistry with over 20 years of organic synthesis bench experience in different countries and Universities. Over the years we observed that:

• Often a routine task at the bench unexpectedly becomes difficult: setting up a synthesis when stirring and temperature measuring, photocleavage of protecting groups, running chromatography columns, etc.
• The existing equipment is often not developed with real life in mind: hot plates temperature/speed indicators are ruined by a drop of acetone, a thermometer won't let a stirrer turn in a three-neck flask, FPLC systems are not compatible with most organic solvents, vacuum distillation glassware is sold without an actual thermometer to fit this same glassware, melting point determination is either done by 19th century techniques or requires a several-thousands-dollars-super-computerized-voice-interactive apparatus, etc.
• Most modern equipment needs a computer which is not always a cool thing. Hard drives fail and operation systems go obsolete well before the equipment attached to them reaches the end of its life.
• The prices for anything research-connected never fail to amaze us.

We were building various equipment privately to solve our own everyday research challenges for all these years. Amusingly, other researchers were constantly borrowing it from us and were very happy with what they borrowed. That is why we started our REACH Devices company.

All equipment we are selling is developed by us, based on the chemistry bench experience and 30 years of engineering experience we have. It is also produced by using breakthrough engineering techniques, which allow us to keep the price low and the quality outstanding. We are a new company, so we are beginning with a preparative column chromatography detector, because we believe it is the most needed and most long-awaited help for many chemistry researchers. The robust oil free inexpensive melting point apparatus is primarily intended for students labs.

We are filling the niche of unique inexpensive equipment in not-too-large quantities, which we know from our own experience is not available but is much wanted by bench researchers. For Millions-of-Corporative-Overhead large companies, an enormous distance exists between the engineers who develop the equipment and the customers who actually use it.
